Danni Wang is a Campaign Associate at J&Z Strategies.
Her portfolio at J&Z ranges from working on candidate to independent expenditure, ballot measure, and issue advocacy campaigns where she helps to spearhead the firm's strategic communications efforts. Danni's scope of work includes press relations, any and all communications efforts, as well as helping the political department with coalition building and outreach, along with assisting the creative teams on paid media, production, digital, social media and direct mail.
Danni comes to J&Z Strategies with an extensive background in campaigns, public policy and political communications. A seasoned communications strategist who has worked in media markets ranging from Los Angeles and Orange County to Sacramento, she previously served as Communications Director for three members of the California State Legislature, working in both chambers, the State Assembly and the State Senate. In this capacity, Danni oversaw all press and media operations in each state office she worked in. In addition, she was the Communications Director for former California State Assemblywoman Christy Smith’s congressional campaign, which was one of the most expensive and widely watched U.S. House races in the nation.
Since grade school, Danni has been passionate about journalism. This culminated in her participation with the Daily Trojan, University of Southern California’s daily collegiate print newspaper. During her senior year of college, Danni served as the paper’s Editor-in-Chief, managing more than 200 student reporters and 20 section editors.
Originally from Overland Park, Kansas, Danni came to Los Angeles to attend the University of Southern California, where she received a B.A. in Psychology and minor in Gender Studies. She’s a full Los Angeles convert — except when it comes to the Kansas City Royals!
