Anastasia Matiatos is a Campaign Associate at J&Z Strategies.
Her scope of work includes working directly with candidates running for local, state and federal office, along with independent expenditure, ballot measure campaigns and issue advocacy efforts. Anastasia works on a wide-range of client services in the firm’s political department, including political outreach and coalition building. She also supports the creative department, helping to develop digital and social media content, assists with production of paid media, and with direct mail.
Anastasia first got her start in politics as an intern on Congressman Ron Barber’s campaign and in his district office. While attending college, she went on to work as a finance staffer for a number of Democratic Congressional campaigns in highly competitive districts, including serving as Deputy Finance Director for Arizona Congressman Tom O’Halleran. She later worked on his Congressional staff, both on and off Capitol Hill, including establishing and running his satellite district office in Tucson, Arizona. Anastasia then went on to serve in a constituent services capacity in Congresswoman Ann Kirkpatrick’s district office, also in Arizona. In those roles, she specialized in community outreach and constituent casework related to immigration, veterans’ benefits, and social security.
Prior to joining the J&Z team, Anastasia was the Campaign Manager for a District Attorney candidate in Orange County, where she oversaw the campaign’s political, communications, and finance operations. During her tenure, she helped establish the candidate as a serious contender in a region that has historically been a Republican stronghold.
Anastasia graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Arizona, where she studied Political Philosophy, Economics, and Studio Art.
